  • Indicate that you require a Chinese visa when registering for the conference;
  •  Pay attention to the procedure of Chinese visa application in your country;
  • Submit your visa application as earlier as possible to allow sufficient time for processing your visa application and for obtaining assistance from the I2MTC 2011 organizers when necessary.

Registered participants of I2MTC 2011 will obtain a letter of invitation signed by the I2MTC 2011 Conference Chair and posted to the address as shown in the registration form.

General information

The 28th IEEE International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference, I2MTC 2011, will be held during May 10-12, 2011, in Hangzhou, P. R. China. Hangzhou is one of the seven ancient capitals and the key scenic tourism and historical culture cities in China. Hangzhou as the Capital of Zhejiang Province is located in the southern part of the Yangtze River Delta, at the western end of Hangzhou Bay, in the lower reaches of the Qiantang River, and at the southern end of Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. It is an important and central city in the Yangtze River Delta and a traffic hub in southeast China. Hangzhou was applauded as "the most splendid and luxurious city in the world" by Marco Polo, the Italian traveler in the 13th century.

The conference will take place in the hotel, Four Points by Sheraton Hangzhou, Binjiang located in 868 Dongxin Avenue, Binjiang District of Hangzhou. May is one of the best months to visit Hangzhou. Its weather in May is usually mild and sunny with average daytime temperature normally in the range 20-25 Celsius degrees.

*The Conference Proceedings will be included in the IEEE Interactive Electronic Library (IEL) as part of IEEE Xplore. All authors who have been accepted must register for the conference and attend the conference to present their paper. Authors who do not attend the conference to present their papers, or arrange for a co-author or knowledgeable colleague to present their paper in the absence of the primary author, will not have their paper published in the IEEE IEL and IEEE Xplore, per latest IEEE policy.

Only full Member or non-Member fees are allowed to cover the publication of accepted papers. One author registration will cover the publication expenses of not more than one accepted paper: for each additional accepted paper, associated to the same registration, a USD $50 printing contribution will be charged. If no registration has b een received and correctly processed to cover the paper publication, the Conference organizers will contact the authors before the paper is removed from the proceedings.

To qualify for any Member rate (Member fee, Student-Member fee, Life-Member fee), one must provide the IEEE membership number in the registration form.

The full Member and non-Member registration fees cover the entrance to all sessions, one copy of the Conference proceedings on CD, 6 coffee breaks, 3 luncheons, the Tuesday Welcome Reception and the Wednesday Gala Dinner.

The Life-Member registration fee covers the entrance to all sessions, one copy of the Conference proceedings on CD, 6 coffee breaks, 3 luncheons and the Tuesday Welcome Reception. If the author, registering to cover the paper publication is a Life Member, he/she has to pay the full Member fee.

The Student registration fee covers the entrance to all sessions, one copy of the Conference proceedings on CD, 6 coffee breaks, 3 luncheons and the Tuesday Welcome Reception. The Student registration fee cannot be used to guarantee the publication of an accepted paper. If the author, registering to cover the paper publication is a student, he/she has to pay the full Member fee.

Confirmation of Conference registration

Registrants will receive an email confirmation upon successful registration. The I²MTC 2011 organizers will contact a registrant in case of registration problems.

Refund Policy

Conference registration will not be refunded (in full or partially) if it is required to cover the publication expenses of an accepted paper - no exception, even in the case of denied VISA. Lunch and banquet tickets that are included in the registration fees will not be refunded if not used.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:

The Chinese Government has issued a statement on its official web portal (http://english.gov.cn/2011-03/30/content_1834987.htm) stating that "Extremely low levels" of radioactive iodine have been detected in the air around more Chinese areas, including Shanghai and Tianjin, but the materials pose no threat to public health. Please note that the distance between Hangzhou (where I2MTC 2011 to be held) and Fukushima is about 2080 kilometers. Hangzhou is located in Zhejiang Province.
